LET’S CHANGE

                                                         LET’S CHANGE!

Each year we waste one third of the food that has been produced. If we do not begin to be aware of this problem we will end up destroying everything. We all have to try our best to fix this before it's too late. There are many tips and solutions that we could carry out, the sooner the better. Why don't we start to change it? We can all do our part at home by buying just the necessary things, storing the food in the correct way and using the technology that we have.

The first thing I want to report on is that there are a lot of websites with information to help you with buying just the necessary things. One of the tips that they give and I'm going to do because I find it very interesting is to make a weekly timetable with the food that you are going to need; on that timetable you must write each single food with a quantity, so when you go to the supermarket, you just take the things that you know that you are going to eat without thinking there the things that you need. (Keating)

Also, they talk about storing the things in the correct way. This is one thing that I did not know, but depending on the food you must store it in a different place and way so that they last longer. They give several examples such as the bananas. In order to get bad later you must not store them with other fruits, and once ripe, you must take them to the fridge. (Keating)

Lastly I want to say that technology has advanced in this area so that we can use the food we have in a better way. I think we should all show more interest in looking for this information and thus be able to collaborate. Currently there are inventions like Bluapple, which helps us so that our fruits and vegetables do not go bad in a short period of time, so they last longer. Another invention that I think we should carry out in all countries and cities is the Cup Club. This consists of implanting reusable cups in all cafeterias which can be left in specific places so that we do not waste so much. (Wreg)

In conclusion, I believe that we should all be more aware of the great problem that we have around us. We have a thousand ways to change it and new ways appear every day. I trust that together we can make a better world in which we do not waste any food. WE HAVE TO CHANGE FOR A BETTER FUTURE!
