KEEPING UP WITH NEW FOOD

                               Keeping up with new food

 Wouldn't you be curious to make some delicious plates with something new and trendy? I honestly would, especially if I could help the environment or my own health. Have you already guessed it? Well I will tell you, the thing I’m talking about is nothing else than meat substitutes. If you are really interested in changing your diet as well as contributing to the preservation of our planet here are some good meat substitutes to get yourself an idea of what i’m talking about. For example you can try plant based burgers or sausages, something you might know which is tofu, and lastly insects.



Imagine eating delicious burgers or sausages made of plant protein but  having the same look and taste as meat. This would be great because they are better for us and our environment, which we need to protect. Well let me tell you, those meat substitutes actually exist and are plant based. I'm talking about  Beyond meat. Their products  are  as good as normal meat; furthermore, there is a big choice of diverse types of alternative meat substitutes in order to not come short. To not forget eating beyond meat  products improves animal welfare.(beyond meat)



However, even if you might have heard it a hundred times. Meat can come from everywhere and can easily cause illnesses like cancer or heart problems; moreover it is destroying our planet due to the many wastes of meat. For this reason I would highly recommend you to switch to some known products of food which are; tofu,tempeh,seitan and of course which  have the same flavour as meat and to make tofu tastier you can marinate it due to its mild flavor. Moreover, you can also consider  foods,like, lentils and mushrooms that contain protein or have a meaty texture. (Berry)

   


Lastly another more daring possibility is eating insects.  I know it could sound weird and disgusting to you at first but I promise I will change your mind. I strongly recommend you  consider insects in your diet owing to their several benefits. For instance you can make a variety of different dishes with them but you won’t notice a difference from normal food and as well they are so much more nutritious. If you are really interested in taking care of the environment and your health , that’s  the reason why you should switch to insects. They don’t pass their diseases to us, and  the food waste will definitely reduce because with insects you waste fewer than half of the meat. (Dicke)







In conclusion I would like to say that you would do a favour to yourself and to our planet if you would conclude meat substitutes in your diet. They look and taste delicious, and they are also rich in proteins and nutrients. You have plenty of reasons why you should convert to them which  are only  benefits, so just do it!

I like your introduction, and i also think that the blog is interesting and important, I have to admit that the possibility f eating insects scared me a little bit, I hope we will never arrive at this point, however I understand that this may be the only possibility for us to continue living in the future.

  2. I like your blog very much! The pictures you have put in your blog relates to your paragraphs.
    Where I live, there aren't any restaurants that have meat substitutes. However, I would really like to try beyond meat one day and see if it actually tastes like a normal meat.
    I understand your reasonings about eating insects and it makes a lot of sense to me as well but I would never substitute meat with insects.
